LGC SkyRota have developed a 5/10kw vertical self start wind turbine. The turbine is a self start with an ac generator that can be used because of the unique and paitented gearbox which alows the turbine to run at 50rpm and have a generator speed of 1500rpm. This unique system means that the turbine control system does not need to use a costly and unreliable inverter.
