abey smallcombeJackie Abey and Jill Smallcombe specialise in sustainable art, architecture and design using earth, one of the oldest building materials known to mankind. They have worked in this field for over ten years designing and creating a wide range of cob structures. Abey Smallcombe's 3 little pigs sustainable courses are run for team building/fun days for organisations and schools. They also run cob workshops for planners, architects, builders and artists based in the beautiful Devon countryside. They have been collaborating as one artist for over ten years as Abey Smallcombe. Their craft is working with cob, earth plasters and other natural beautiful, sustainable materials. Cob is a mixture of subsoil, straw and water. It is a unique material and has traditionally been used for building. It has fantastic qualities - colour, texture, solidity... and allows them to realise and express their ideas in many ways.
